We are thrilled to announce that last month, as part of our ongoing Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) initiative, we had the honor of awarding scholarships to six remarkable graduating high school seniors from underrepresented minority backgrounds. These talented individuals have shown exceptional dedication, commitment, and academic excellence throughout their high school years, and we couldn’t be prouder to support them as they embark on their college journeys!

The $10,000 four-year scholarship will provide up to $2,500 per year for a student’s freshman through senior years of college. The scholarship will also provide students with access to summer leadership seminars to equip students to become successful leaders upon graduation.

Without further ado, let us introduce you to our remarkable scholarship recipients, who not only excelled academically but have also overcome various challenges to reach this significant milestone:

  1. Sierra Meeks – Graduated from Waterloo West High School and will be attending the University of Arizona.
  2. Jordan Jones-Whitaker – Graduated from Cedar Falls High School and will be attending Grand View University.
  3. Keiana James – Graduated from Cedar Falls High School and will be attending the University of Wisconsin Madison.
  4. Peyton Chambers – Graduated from Waterloo West High School and will be attending the University of Iowa.
  5. Brook Dunn – Graduated from Waterloo West High School and will be attending the University of Northern Iowa.
  6. Lizet Aldurazi – Graduated from Waterloo West High School and will be attending the University of Northern Iowa.

We believe that by providing these outstanding individuals with the necessary financial support, we are helping to create a more inclusive and equitable society. We are confident these exceptional individuals will continue to shine brightly in their chosen fields of study, making a positive impact on their communities and the world at large.

We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to Tom Penaluna for providing the funding for the Leadership & Legacy Scholars Program; Tom’s generosity and commitment to supporting the education and future of these talented students is truly commendable.

Congratulations once again to our scholarship recipients!
